In April 2025, we returned to our off-road racing roots at the legendary NORRA® MEXICAN 1000® in Baja California. In a faithfully restored 1976 Scout® Terra™, the “Race Terra” built, raced and navigated by our friends Sean and Owen Barber of Anything Scout and New Legend.

After an accident in the 2024 race nearly sidelined them for good, the Barbers completed an unforgettable comeback across 1,290 miles of punishing terrain, busted parts, and desert heat across six grueling days to finish first in their Legends 4x4 class.

To celebrate the milestone, we met up with Sean and Owen in the Sonoran Desert after the race to introduce the Race Terra to the next generation Terra. Because for us, it’s never about going backwards. It’s about lessons learned, and the ideals we haul forward.
